 FAQs

  • We will provide aprons for all children, but we ask that they are dressed in clothes that can get messy, hair pulled back, and with closed toe shoes.

  • Sally Wagner of @sweetpeasandabcs

Sally is a former elementary special education teacher turned SAHM to two girls, ages 5 and 9. While she’s always had a love for home cooking (Santa brought a pasta maker for Christmas at age 12!), her focus has turned to food allergy-friendly, mostly plant-based, kid-fun recipes since having her daughters. Favorites include colorful salads, any kind of pasta, peanut butter cups, and soft sugar cookies.

    Lauren O’Brien of @morehappykitchens

Lauren is homecook with a passion to make as much from scratch as possible! Cooking is a big part of her family, and she's been teaching her own children (ages 5 & 7) how to cook since they were just tiny tots. Lauren has been a SAHM for 7 years and also works part-time in marketing, formerly with Milwaukee Mom and now as a virtual assistant. She started More Happy Kitchens (@morehappykitchens) a year ago as an avenue to inspire a love of cooking and growing food for people of all ages.

  • Just themselves!

We do require all parents to sign a waiver/liability form before children are able to participate in the class. You will receive the link to this after sign up. If you have not received it or have any questions, please email hello@morehappykitchens.com.

  • In an effort to keep attendees safe and healthy, we reserve the right to refuse admission to obviously ill children. If your child is too sick to go to school, they are too sick to come to this class. We follow the same guidelines as our local schools. Your child must be symptom-free and fever-free for at least 48 hours before the scheduled class! Tickets are non-refundable, but are transferable.

  • All attendees need a ticket for the class. The class is designed for one child (and one grownup for preschool classes) per workstation.

If the sibling is under 12 mos, they are welcome to join as long as they are in a safe and secure carrier or stroller! At this time, we ask that you do not bring older siblings along. Please email us at hello@morehappykitchens.com with any questions about this policy.

  • We’re happy to help you transfer your ticket to another child! Tickets cannot be refunded.

  • Sure do! Please email us at hello@morehappykitchens.com to inquire.

  • Join our email list at the bottom of this page! Subscribers will have access to upcoming classes one day before classes are open to the general public. We will always share about our upcoming classes on our social media accounts on Instagram (@morehappykitchens) and Facebook (More Happy Kitchens.)

  • We do! We love to help Troops earn a new badge if it relates to cooking! Please email sally@morehappykitchens.com for more information.

  • We are very familiar with food allergies (Sally has a daughter with an egg allergy!) and want ALL children to have a chance to attend a cooking class! We will always do our best to make modifications to our recipes, if we're able. At times, there may be a small upcharge if we need to purchase a specific allergy-friendly ingredient.

Please email us at sally@morehappykitchens.com if you have questions about your child's food allergy.

    What about food preferences?

We always share what we're making in the class descriptions, so there aren't any surprises. During class, if kids share that they don't prefer a certain ingredient, we always encourage them to give it a try anyway! Sometimes when an ingredient is mixed with other ingredients in a recipe, it tastes different. Often kids will be eager to try new foods simply because they've had a hand in making it!
